Has it really been a year and a half?

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Yes, it has. And why? Because I'm lazy. It's time to give life to this blog (as if it really had any to begin with).

First up on the agenda ... new years resolutions.

Have I made any? Have I broken them already, as I have every single year since the middle of Grade 8? This year, I have decided to make my new years resolution the following: I will not make any new years resolutions. Instead, I will make resolutions (kinda like miny promises to myself) throughout the year. My only criteria: I have to achieve at least 4 of them. This is way better than percentages. This way, I can fail at 96 resolutions out of 100 and still be a winner in my eyes, whereas the other way leaves me at a 4% success rate, which would still probably make me a winner in my eyes (yes, I so need glasses).

Resolution 1: Attempt 1
Resolution: I will show self discipline over a designated period of time.
Duration: 14 days + (Yes, the + is meant as a joke. As if.)
Method: I will follow the Master Cleanse as directed, without any modification.
Start Date: No way I'm starting today ... but I guess I can go for Monday (January 11). And if that flops, I'll go for Tuesday.
Comments: If I actually do this, I can kill two birds with one stone. I can hopefully prove to myself that self discipline and I have not truly parted ways upon my third birthday, and cleanse my body at the same time (or potentially damage it, depending on what research you want to believe).

For you S

This is for S, providing she actually decides to check up on this site at least once this month :p

S,

I know you are really stressed by exams, law school, and everything in between. I know that whatever you do, you will be great at it. Try not to stress so much.

You are super smart. You know the geek in me couldn't survive without someone to argue with about everything from war, to politics, to ideology, to religion, to education, and of course, television.

I love you with all my heart, and I hope that you are able to not let the stress of exams and law school affect you too much. I will help you with your essays and exam prep.

I love you. I love you. And I love you.

Your loving girlfriend T

Best. Cartoon. Ever.

This has got to be the most amazing cartoon ever:

I already finished season one. It's so funny. Kinda like "Sarah Silverman funny", where you feel bad for laughing, but it's so funny that you have to anyway.

Longboard envy

Monday, May 19, 2008

Just came back from a late-night run to 7 Eleven. On the way back, what do I happen to see? Someone with a kick ass longboard.

Oh, how I long for thee, longboard.

P.S. Are you reading this S?

Dear S,

Longboard please. Kinda like this one. Surfboard-like contour. Thank you <3

Obsession # 1

Friday, May 16, 2008

Spiderman.

I don't exactly know where this obsession is coming from. All I know is that one day when my mom was bringing out gifts to wrap for my cousins, I couldn't help but covet the Spiderman action figure set my mom had bought for one of them. That's when I realized the obsession was more than a mild fascination.

It has grown to the point where I now own a Spiderman sheet set (embarrassing ... well, not really. I'll just pretend it is for appearance's sake) and I've downloaded The Amazing Spiderman comic book series volumes 1 through 72.

And why this obsession, you may ask? Well ... I don't know. All I know is that Spiderman kicks ass (but not as much as Buffy, which is my eternal obsession, one that will never die).
